The Ping G20 Iron Set is engineered for extreme forgiveness and predictable distance control. The cavity's floating CTP structure stabilizes the face and the aluminum badge with elastomer heel and toe sections produces a solid feel and sound. The CTP reinforces a 10% thinner face and controls distances while saving weight, which was added to the back flange of the deeply cut, multi-cavity head to increase the moment of inertia. Combined with the new CFS steel shaft (control, feel and stability), the G20 optimizes feel and trajectories. Consistent yardage gapping is a key benefit of the G20 set, which includes high-launching long irons that maximize the overall range and predictability of a player's set.

Distance Control
The cavity's floating CTP structure stabilizes a thin face to generate fast ball speeds and enhance distance control.

Optimized CG Position
Weight saved by thinning the face allowed Ping engineers to redistribute weight to the perimeter and the back flange, which positions the CG low and back to launch the ball higher and longer.

Thin Face

I am 15 with an 8 handicap. I was previously playing a set of forged hogans. These go 15 yards farther and much higher. The feel is not that of slicing butter, but it is still very good. The are just about as accurate and with my swing speed these were essential for getting my 4 iron up and landing soft. They have good spin on the short irons, and on a soft green with a pro v1 and teed up high, I was able to spin my nine iron back over 4 feet to pin high! I was fitted into the purple dot and a stiff shaft. I would strongly recommend getting fitted by pings excellent fitting service to find the length and lie right for you. These had much better ball flight than the ap2 (especially the ap1, those are horrible) so if you have a slower swing speed or want more forgiveness these are the best buy for you. If you are debating between G20 and i20, get the G20 if your swing speed is slower, or want more forgiveness obviously. What a wonderful set of irons. I have been shooting longer and straighter than I did with previous mizuno irons. My four iron is long and straight at 195 yds. My wedges are deft. Great great purchase ....awesome clubs! PING G 20's ROCK!!!!! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars]
